Firms celebrate listings in Chamber & Partners

A number of firms based in Yorkshire are celebrating their inclusion in 2018 Chambers & Partners guide.

Hull’s Andrew Jackson has achieved several recommendations both regionally and nationally, with ten of its lawyers being recognised in the prestigious Leaders in their Field section of the guide.

Mark Pearson-Kendall, the firm’s managing partner (pictured), said: “The recommendations we receive in Chambers & Partners’ annual guide continue to be very important to us, as they are largely based on feedback from our clients and so they provide us with a true picture of how we are performing.

“To continue to receive high levels of recognition across several practice areas, whilst having ten lawyers recommended as leaders in their field is a great endorsement from one of the leading client authorities to the UK’s legal sector,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bevan Brittan’s Yorkshire social housing team, which advises a wide range of housing associations, housebuilders and local authorities on development projects, has had three partners ranked Band 1 individually.

They are part of the firm’s Leeds office which opened a little over two years ago and has successfully established itself within the Yorkshire market across a range of public and private sector areas.

Harrogate and Leeds-based Berwins has seen its specialist family law division retain its top tier ranking with leading family lawyers Stephen Root and Yorkshire’s only eminent practitioner of family law, Sarah Smith, singled out for praise.

The firm’s expert commercial arm received broad praise, with senior partner and head of commercial Paul Berwin ranked for his expertise in information technology (Band Two), and corporate law (Band Three). Richard Wheeldon (Band Two), was praised as a highly experienced practitioner in the field of commercial property, while employment and HR lawyer Mike Patterson was singled out as an associate to watch in Berwins’ recognised employment practice.

And Rahman Ravelli has once again been named by the legal guide as one of the UK’s elite firms for corporate fraud and financial crime. The firm’s founder, Aziz Rahman, was listed as a star individual and described as “one of the foremost financial crime solicitors in the UK’’ and a “charismatic, fearsome litigator who puts his clients at ease”.
