John McQuater, partner and head of litigation at Doncaster law firm Atherton Godfrey, has been accredited by the Law Society as a catastrophic injury specialist.
McQuater, who also holds Law Society accreditation for both personal injury and clinical negligence, has overall responsibility for both areas of practice at Atherton Godfrey.
He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, an organisation that he led as president in 2009 and 2010, as well as the Forum of Complex Injury Solicitors, the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association, the law management section of the Law Society, the South Yorkshire Medico-Legal Society and the Solicitors’ Association of Higher Court Advocates.
McQuater is also a past president of the Doncaster and District Law Society and of the Yorkshire Union of Law Societies.
Commenting on his accreditation as a catastrophic injury specialist, McQuater said: “Accreditations are important kite marks that give reassurance to those looking for a solicitor with specialist skills in a particular field.”
“It is a traumatic time for everyone involved and a time when people need to be sure that their solicitor has a firm grasp of the issues and has the skill and expertise to be able to help them obtain justice.”
