Harrogate-based Raworths’ Trusts, Wills and Estates (TWE) team has won the coveted ‘Private Client Team of the Year’ category at this year’s Yorkshire Legal Awards 2026.
The awards, which took place on Thursday 8th October at Leeds’s New Dock Hall, are judged by a prestigious independent panel made up of experts from across the Yorkshire legal community. Commenting on Raworths’ win, judges said:
“In an outstanding field that made the decision particularly challenging, Raworths demonstrated the expertise and dedication required to support clients through deeply personal and complex matters. Its commitment to client care and contribution to the wider community reflected the very best of private client practice.”
The accolade comes on the back of the 24-strong TWE team, which is one of the largest private client teams in Yorkshire, recently retaining top tier rankings in leading industry guides including the Legal 500 and a Band 1 ranking in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2026 for the tenth year in a row.
The Yorkshire Legal Awards, which celebrates its 27th anniversary this year, brings together the region’s legal community to recognise and celebrate the achievements of law firms, in-house teams and individual practitioners.
The accolade further cements Raworths’ established reputation as one of the leading law firms in the North of England, with specialist commercial and private client lawyers working together under one roof.
Rachel Tunnicliffe, Senior Partner and Head of Private Client Services at Raworths said: “We’re incredibly proud to see our Private Client team recognised at the Yorkshire Legal Awards. This reflects the expertise, commitment and collaborative spirit of our whole team, and the exceptional service they provide to businesses, families and individuals across the region and beyond. Our people are at the heart of Raworths, and this recognition is a real testament to the culture we have built together – one where talented individuals work collaboratively to support our clients through every stage of their personal and professional lives.
“We’d like to thank the judges for this award and extend our congratulations to all of this year’s winners.”
Raworths was also nominated for ‘Law Firm of the Year (medium)’; Managing Partner, Simon Morris was shortlisted for ‘Managing Partner of the Year’, marking his 25th year at Raworths and four years of exceptional leadership at the helm of the firm. Senior Partner and Head of Private Client Services, Rachel Tunnicliffe was also nominated in the ‘Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year’ category.
Luke Corcoran, Chair of the judging panel said: “The Yorkshire Legal Awards showcase the very best of our profession: talent, dedication, judgement and service right across this remarkable region. As Head Judge, it has been a real privilege to see the calibre of this year’s entries, which reflect not only outstanding legal expertise but also the strength, ambition and community spirit of Yorkshire’s legal sector. To be shortlisted is a significant achievement, and I hope the awards continue to inspire firms, teams and individuals to celebrate the exceptional work being done here in God’s own county.”
The awards mark a milestone year for 70-strong firm, which has welcomed new partners; grown its commercial and private client portfolio regionally and nationally and strengthened its commitment to Harrogate’s cultural and civic community. As the headline sponsor of the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival since 2012, this year the firm expanded its artistic portfolio by also becoming the title sponsor for ‘Salon North’; Harrogate International Festivals’ series which brings together diverse speakers spanning the arts, sciences, and psychology.
