Mills & Reeve expands team with new, bigger Leeds office

Mills & Reeve has celebrated its recent move to a bigger office space by welcoming seven new professionals.

The move comes after its growing team have taken over 10,200 sq ft at 1 City Square, Leeds. The office fit out was managed by specialist firm, Overbury.

With a 25% headcount increase over the past year, the latest appointments reflect the rising demand for the firm’s services. The employment team now boasts three new associates: Ingrid Tarlageanu from Lyons Davidson, Chloe Higgs from Gordons, and Tamina Aslam from Capsticks. Katherine Baker joins as a professional support lawyer in the corporate team, and Natalie Gray from Walker Morris steps in as a tax associate specialising in real estate, corporate, and charity matters. The real estate team also recently welcomed principal associate Danny Appleyard, while Yasemin Dogan has been appointed as a trainee solicitor.

This expansion coincides with Mills & Reeve’s recognition at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2024, where the Leeds office was named ‘Large Firm of the Year’. Paul Johnson, head of the Leeds office, expressed excitement over the new office, describing it as a “state-of-the-art space” and an “exceptional working environment”.

He also highlighted plans to introduce new practice areas with future partner-level recruits, emphasising the firm’s focus on sectors including technology, healthcare, education, and food and agribusiness.

“The new office gives us room to host client events and to create a brilliant networking space in the centre of Leeds.  One of the key reasons we chose to stay at 1 City Square was the proximity to the station, and we’re looking forward to using it for a range of events with clients and contacts,” he added.
