John Blake has joined Leeds-based Legal Studio Solicitors as a consultant.
Following a successful career working as an engineer for Tarmac Construction and JMC Construction, Blake (pictured) qualified as a solicitor in 2003.
He undertook training at Blacks Solicitors in Leeds before moving to John Howe & Co Solicitors where he became a partner. He was a director of the firm until retirement in June 2020 and joined Legal Studio last month.
Blake brings 17 years of civil litigation experience to Legal Studio. During this time, he has developed a network of loyal clients and cultivated strong links with many local and national businesses. He deals with a variety of civil litigation matters, including clinical and professional negligence, personal injury, commercial litigation, construction disputes and litigation, general litigation, and employment.
He has built up a reputation for being approachable and plain talking and offering sensible advice, while having a hands-on approach to the resolution of disputes. He is an experienced litigator, advising clients on a range of contentious matters, from relatively low-value disputes that are key to a client’s business operations to complex multi-party claims which are resolved at mediation or court.
Blake has particular expertise in claimant and defence cases involving professional negligence claims and construction disputes and works closely with clients to avoid, manage, and resolve commercial disputes.
