Bromets recruits senior commercial property solicitor

Mark Clayton has joined Tadcaster-based Bromets Solicitors as a senior commercial property solicitor.

He arrives from Blackett, Hart and Pratt in Darlington, and bolsters a commercial property team that includes new recruit Craig Williams, an experienced commercial property lawyer.

Clayton (pictured) specialises in drafting and negotiating complex property documentation, and advising on on property transactions and property law issues. He also has in-depth knowledge of stamp duty land tax and land registration issues.

Clayton’s arrival follows the addition of Williams to Bromets Solicitors earlier this year.

He acts for landed families and estates in the management of property portfolios, and also assists landlord and tenants, deals with all aspects of commercial property transactions, and advises on complex property and title matters.

Erika Sinclair also joined Bromets Solicitors earlier this year, as a senior solicitor within the private client team. She was previously national head of private client at Simpson Millar.

Bromets Solicitors, which launched in 2016, is led by Edward Bromet, a former board member and senior equity partner at Wrigleys.

Nigel Middlemass, a former senior commercial litigator at Schofield Sweeney, and three assistant solicitors complete the team at Bromets Solicitors.

Edward Bromet commented: “I am delighted to welcome Erika Sinclair, a senior private client solicitor, and Mark Clayton and Craig Williams, both very experienced commercial property solicitors.”

“They compliment our substantial private client department and litigators, so that our new firm, which is only two-years-old, is growing fast and providing the expertise for complicated tax planning and transactional work, mostly for private clients and trustees.”

He went on to say: “We have low overheads and so can deliver less than city centre costs to our clients, while retaining the highest level of expertise matched with a very efficient service that is not in the least cumbersome. We always get the job done on time.”

“We are experiencing growth in all these areas with a large existing client base of high value clients, who do not like to move firms often, and a steady stream of more coming to us.”
