Blacks Solicitors oversees MMX Communications acquisition

Blacks Solicitors has overseen and helped coordinate the acquisition of its longstanding client, telecommunications solutions provider MMX Communications.

The shareholders of MMX Communications chose Blacks to assist with the sale to TXO Systems, which provides professional telecoms asset management services and consultancy, after working together for nine years.

During the course of the work to complete the deal, Blacks worked closely with Ignition Corporate Finance, which handled the corporate finance aspects of the transaction.

Dave Paterson, the corporate law partner at Blacks who led the team throughout the transaction, said: “We are dedicated to nurturing long-term relationships with clients and helping them achieve their goals and objectives, and the team are honoured to have been part of MMX Communications’ journey over the past nine years, which started with us advising them on their management buy-out from the then owners, and has culminated in this exit.”

“It has been fantastic supporting Neil and the team at MMX Communications throughout the sale, and we are certain that the business will be a valuable addition to the TXO group.”

Neil Bartlam, managing director of MMX Communications Services, commented: “I am really grateful to the team at Blacks for their help in overseeing and coordinating the sale and to Ignition for its financial support.”

“After the team’s hard work building the MMX Communications brand over the past nine years, I hope that the acquisition by TXO Systems will contribute to the continued growth and success of MMX Communications.”

Peter Barrand, partner at Ignition Corporate Finance, added: “It was a pleasure to support Neil and the team, and offer corporate finance advice to ensure the transaction was a complete success. We’re really proud to have been involved with such a successful business and I believe this deal will leave MMX Communications and the TXO group in a strong position for the future.”
