Private client paralegal has taken the next step on her journey to fully qualified legal professional at Derbyshire and Yorkshire law firm BRM.
Rabi Zaheer has been promoted to trainee solicitor after joining BRM as a private client paralegal in October 2025.
Having graduated from Sheffield Hallam University and later completing the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law, Rabi will undertake a traditional training contract at BRM. Across two years, she will gain qualifying work experience by supporting BRM’s clients and complete the Professional Skills Course (PSC) on her journey towards qualification as a solicitor.
Rabi previously worked at a national law firm in their private client department, where she gained two years of experience dealing with Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorneys (LPAs) before joining BRM.
She said: “I only started my career at BRM as a Paralegal last year, so to be progressing to a Trainee Solicitor in the Private Client department already is an exciting step for me.
“I’m grateful for the support and encouragement I have had from my colleagues over the past year. I am looking forward to continuing learning and developing my skills throughout my training contract, whilst I work towards qualifying as a solicitor.”
Rabi will be supervised by Richard Barlow, director and head of tax, trusts and estates (Sheffield), during her training contract.

Aspiring solicitors who have completed the LPC can continue to qualify as a solicitor via the traditional route until December 31, 2032.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) qualification framework, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), became the standard route to qualifying as a solicitor in September 2021.
BRM introduced SQE apprentice roles in 2025 as part of its early career and development programme, providing structured legal training aligned with current regulatory requirements, including the two years of qualifying work experience required under the SQE pathway.
