Real estate legal expert appointed to Sheffield Property Association board

The Sheffield Property Association has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of a real estate specialist from one of the city’s leading legal firms.

Claire Mayfield-Tulip will join the S-PA as a director, bringing over 25 years of legal and operational experience, including in her role as director and head of operations in the real estate department at Sheffield solicitors BRM.

A highly respected figure within the South Yorkshire property sector, Claire has built her entire professional career in the region and has remained committed to supporting its growth and development.

Having moved to Sheffield as a student, she has since worked with a number of leading legal firms, and joined BRM’s rapidly expanding real estate team in September 2024.

She has developed an extensive network across the region’s development, investment and business communities, building significant experience advising developers operating across both the residential and commercial property sectors throughout South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

Alongside her role at BRM, Claire also serves as a non-executive director at Sheffield Technology Parks.

Her appointment to the S-PA board reflects the organisation’s core purpose of bringing together senior industry expertise to help improve the Sheffield City Region’s built environment.

Claire said: “I wanted to join the S-PA board because I am passionate about supporting the advancement of Sheffield City Region and helping it become the very best version of itself.

“I believe collaboration across the public and private sectors is essential if we are to deliver meaningful change, support sustainable development and create greater economic growth and prosperity across the city and wider region.

“My ambition is to help raise Sheffield and South Yorkshire’s profile nationally while supporting the delivery of projects and initiatives that will benefit both current residents and future generations.”

Claire’s appointment comes at a time of emerging opportunities across housing, commercial development, infrastructure and innovation-led regeneration across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

Her experience working alongside local developers and businesses, combined with her long-standing commitment to the region, will add to the association’s strategic direction and advocacy work.

Tim Bottrill, director at the Sheffield Property Association, said: “Claire brings a wealth of experience, deep regional knowledge and a genuine passion for Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

“Her understanding of the development landscape, coupled with her commitment to collaboration and economic growth, will be a significant asset to the board and our members.

“We are delighted to welcome her as a director and look forward to working together to support the continued success of the region.”
