Sills & Betteridge LLP has strengthened its foothold in Sheffield following a rebrand and relocation. The firm, which merged with Acclaimed Family Law in January 2023, has officially opened its new office in New Oxford House, Barker’s Pool, in the city’s vibrant ‘Heart of the City’ Quarter.
To celebrate the occasion, Tigers Rugby Union star James Norman, a well-known figure and a sponsor of Sills & Betteridge, was present at the launch. The firm will now operate under the name Sills & Betteridge Incorporating Acclaimed Family Law in Sheffield.
Acclaimed Family Law’s expertise in high-value matrimonial cases and complex family law matters will now be complemented by Sills & Betteridge’s broader suite of legal services. These include family mediation, corporate commercial services, and private client work, among others.
Speaking about the move, Michelle Cooper, partner and founder of Acclaimed Family Law, expressed her excitement about the transition to the new premises:
“Our relocation to larger, prestigious offices in a prime part of Sheffield is an exciting step for the Acclaimed Family Law team. Now, as part of Sills & Betteridge, our clients will have access to a wider range of complementary legal services under one roof, ensuring all their legal needs are met.”
Martyn Hall, chief executive of Sills & Betteridge, highlighted the firm’s ambitions for Sheffield and beyond:
“We are ambitious for Sheffield. Our new office will allow us to integrate the expertise of both practices and support future growth. We are particularly excited about the opportunities this space offers for expanding our services and accommodating strategic hires.”
This latest development follows a busy year for the firm. Alongside the Sheffield relocation, Sills & Betteridge has also acquired Nottingham-based Campions Solicitors, refurbished its Boston office, and moved its Northampton and Sleaford teams to larger premises.
With a growing presence across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and the East Midlands, Sills & Betteridge now operates from 18 offices and employs over 430 people.
