Yorkshire-based law firm Schofield Sweeney has started the year with a host of promotions.
The corporate team has promoted Jessica Fielden to director.
Jessica commented on her new venture, stating; “Having joined the firm as a trainee, it’s been a pleasure to grow and develop within Schofield Sweeney. I am very grateful to be part of a team that embodies the firm’s culture and invests in its own to nurture and support growth. I am sure 2024 will follow in the footsteps of 2023, full of excitement and success for the corporate team.”
The litigation team has promoted Elizabeth Foster to associate. She deals with a range of chancery and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on contentious probate and trusts work.
Leo Jones-Rowe, partner, commented on Elizabeth’s new position. “Elizabeth’s promotion is richly deserved. She started her training contract with the firm over six years ago and has developed into a key member of the dispute resolution team. She was recently shortlisted for “Rising Star of the Year” at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2023, and I have no doubt she will continue to forge an excellent reputation in the market.”
The litigation team has promoted Damian Kilroy to director. His experience lies with insolvency and commercial disputes, often involving allegations of fraud.
“Damian’s promotion is very well deserved and reflects the hard work and commitment he has shown over a sustained period. He continues to be a key member of our team and his promotion reflects this. He is extremely well regarded by clients and colleagues alike.” said James Wood, partner at Schofield Sweeney.
Ann-Marie Keighley, the first non-lawyer to be promoted to associate in 2022, has now been promoted to marketing director.
Graham Sweeney, managing partner, praised Ann-Marie’s dedication; “This promotion reflects Ann-Marie’s dedication and hard work and is an excellent testimony of how she has forged her career at the firm. It echoes not just the excellent work she delivers leading our first-class marketing team, but also the commitment and support she provides in many other areas of the business.”
