Lupton Fawcett, which has offices in offices in Leeds, Sheffield, and York, has announced two senior promotions, appointing Julian Rowden as head of commercial property and Angela Gorton as head of employment.

Julian Rowden, who joined Lupton Fawcett in 2013, brings over three decades of legal experience to his new role. A specialist in commercial and agricultural property transactions, Julian has developed expertise in handling acquisitions and disposals of rural land holdings.

Angela Gorton, a partner at Lupton Fawcett for 15 years and with more than 25 years’ experience in employment law, advises employers and senior executives across sectors such as housebuilding, education, manufacturing, and real estate. Angela is known for her commercially-focused approach to resolving HR issues.

Lupton Fawcett’s managing partner, James Richardson, said: “I’m delighted to congratulate Julian and Angela on their new leadership roles within the firm.

“As well as having excellent – and well-deserved – reputations in their fields of expertise, their commitment to providing outstanding service aligns perfectly with our approach to client care and will support our future success.”

Julian said, “I’m looking forward to leading and strengthening our commercial property team as we continue to offer high-quality legal advice to existing clients, and welcome new ones.”

Angela said, “I’m excited at the prospect of managing a team of incredibly talented, commercially-minded and friendly experts in providing a first class, cost-effective service across all aspects of employment law.”

Both the commercial property and employment teams have been acknowledged in the latest Chambers UK Legal Guide and Legal 500 UK rankings. Notably, the employment team has also been shortlisted for the 2024 Yorkshire Legal Awards.
