Yorkshire-based Jordans Solicitors has announced the expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of three new directors and five new associates.
The 75 year-old firm, which has offices in Wakefield, Dewsbury, Horsforth, Selby, and Wetherby, offers services in personal and commercial law.
New directors strengthen the board
The existing board of directors includes Christine Sands, Sukhbeer Shergill, and Susan Lewis. Joining them is Jane Matthews, head of the firm’s abuse compensation department, brings over 25 years of experience representing clients. A panel member of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers, she has played a key role in changing laws around child abuse claims and securing compensation for victims.
Gemma Hicks, with Jordans since 2008, also joins the board. She currently leads the personal injury and clinical negligence teams; under her leadership, the department has grown significantly, handling high-value claims on a national scale.
Notably, Andrew Goulding, the firm’s finance manager since 2000, becomes Jordans’ first non-fee-earning director. A Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) member, he also serves as the firm’s Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA).

Promoting talent from within
In addition to the new directors, Jordans has promoted five associates: Emma Brocklebank, care solicitor and head of the Horsforth office; Lisa McGirr, deputy head of the Private Client team; Lucy Copley, private client solicitor; Shaquille Kilbourne, property solicitor; and Katie Taylor, care solicitor.
