Roger Dyson is retiring as head of the Keebles corporate team after a career spanning four decades and encompassing 500 deals.
Joining Keebles, then called HLW, as a corporate partner in 2000, Dyson became managing partner in 2008 and was appointed to lead the corporate team in 2011 when the firm merged with Keeble Hawson.
The law firm recently rebranded to Keebles.
Spearheading small- and medium-sized entities and owner-managed business transactions, Dyson’s extensive experience includes representing PLCs in sensitive applications and transactions involving multiple clients and jurisdictions. A particularly complex deal involved managing the simultaneous sale of three unrelated businesses in the same sector with different owners to the same US buyer.
Under Dyson’s leadership, the team grew to one of the region’s largest departments. Its client portfolio includes Pressure Technologies, Acorn Industrial Services and UK Steel Enterprise, a subsidiary of Tata Steel.
Matt Ainsworth will replace Dyson as head the corporate department.
Dyson said: “I’m delighted and proud to leave the talented team in the capable hands of Matt as it continues to go from strength to strength, Our policy of training and developing our trainee solicitors—coupled with how our reputation has attracted the region’s top dealmakers to work with us—has fuelled our expansion and maintained our reputation in the market. I wish Matt and the team continued success.”
Ainsworth commented: “Roger’s track record and wealth of achievements are inspirational. He has been instrumental in sustaining the high regard in which the corporate team is held in Yorkshire and beyond. We thank Roger for his pivotal role and wish him a long and happy retirement.”
