A heart-warming story for Valentine’s Day: Yorkshire-based law firm, Best Solicitors, is showcasing its commitment to community support by joining forces with the Sheffield-based charity, Support Dogs.
Valentine’s Day event
Best Solicitors is offering a complimentary will-writing service to individuals interested in supporting the charity through legacy donations.
On 14 February 2024, the firm’s head office on West Street, Sheffield, will play host to a special event. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet some of the assistance dogs and chat with Support Dogs’ dedicated staff.
Adding a sweet touch to the occasion, a charity cake sale will also be held. All proceeds will go towards Support Dogs’ mission of enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with autism, epilepsy, or physical disabilities.
Who does Support Dogs help?
Support Dogs, a member of the National Free Wills Network, specialises in training assistance dogs to provide essential support to those in need, enabling them to lead safer and more independent lives. Remarkably, one in three of these support dogs owes its existence to the generosity of donations left in wills and legacies.
Danny Anderson, head of fundraising at Support Dogs, said, “We are so grateful to Best Solicitors for supporting us in this way – we’re two long-established local organizations working together so this is a real match made in heaven.”
Anne Rogers, solicitor and director of wills and probate at Best Solicitors, echoed this sentiment. She said, “Best Solicitors are very invested in the well-being of our community and committed to making a positive impact. We appreciate how important it is to support and give back to our local charities who get limited support.”
Best Solicitors supported Support Dogs’ charity netball event last year. Rogers said, “[We] were really inspired by the dogs and their abilities to support the vulnerable on all different levels. We wanted to raise awareness and raise money for Support Dogs and this is why we have organised a will-writing event.”
Support Dogs will be present at Best Solicitors’ Sheffield branch from 1am to 2 pm on 14 February, offering individuals an opportunity to learn more about their impactful work and how they can contribute to making a difference.
