National law firm Simpson Millar has expanded its specialist Education and Children’s Rights team with three new appointments, strengthening its ability to support children, young people and families as demand for specialist education law advice continues to grow.
Victoria Kerr joins the team as a Solicitor, while Ian McAweeney and Libby Wright have been appointed as Paralegals.
Their arrival builds on the firm’s continued investment in its national Education Law practice following the appointment of Polly Kerr as Partner & Head of Education and Children’s Rights in late 2025.
Victoria, based in the London office, advises families on all aspects of education law. She joins the team with more than 20 years’ post-qualification experience, having previously practised in commercial property law.
Ian McAweeney and Libby Wright have joined the team as Paralegals, supporting the firm’s Education and Children’s Rights team across a broad range of matters. Ian is based in the London office, while Libby is based in Leeds.
Ian previously gained litigation experience at leading Irish public interest law firm KOD Lyons, working on education and disability law cases.
Libby brings valuable SEND experience from volunteering with national charities IPSEA and SOS!SEN, where she advised parents and carers on Education, Health and Care Plans, school exclusions, disability discrimination and SEND Tribunal appeals.

The appointments form part of Simpson Millar’s ongoing investment in its specialist Public Law services, supporting the continued growth of its nationally recognised Education and Children’s Rights practice.
