Sheffield-headquartered Fulcrum Utility Services hsa appointed corporate finance lawyer Jennifer Babington as a non-executive director.
Babington will join the listed utility company on 1 May.
She brings extensive experience in law, finance and industry to Fulcrum, having commenced her career as a corporate finance lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright.
Babington later moved into the renewable energy and infrastructure sector as legal counsel of Element Power, a UK-based renewables company, where she oversaw wind and solar developments in Northern Europe.
She went on to serve as chief of staff at the government-backed UK Green Investment Bank and was responsible for advising its chief executive on strategy. Babington is currently operations director and general counsel of the Envision Virgin Racing Formula E Team.
Phil Holder, chairman of Fulcrum, welcomed Babington to the board, saying: “I am delighted to welcome Jennifer to the board as a non-executive director. Her breadth of experience will further enhance the board, its independent judgement and will support the group through the current short-term uncertainty and will complement the next phase of strategic development and growth.”
Holder continued: “Jennifer’s specialist knowledge in the renewables sector and green investments space is particularly exciting and will assist the group in capitalising on the significant long-term electrical opportunities available to us as the UK decarbonises its energy.”
